TI Metal Forming (TIMF) is the business division of Tube Investments of India Ltd. (US$ 221 million). It is a flagship company of the Murugappa Group (US$ 866 million).
TIMF are pioneers in roll forming in India and are engaged in the manufacture & supply of value added, metal formed auto components to OEMs.
In 1998, the first Door frames manufacturing facility was set up at Bawal (Near Gurgaon) with an investment of Rs.20 crore (US$ 4.3 million) in technical collaboration with Edward Rose of UK, for supplying Door frames to Maruti Udyog Ltd. for their 800cc car.
The second facility for door frames was set up in 1998 with an investment of Rs.17 crore (US$ 3.66 million) at Nemilicherry (Near Chennai) in technical collaboration with Dongwon of Korea, for supplying to Hyundai Motors India for their Santro & Accent models.
The facility for manufacture of Door frames for Maruti Omni van was established in year 2002, using indigenous design & critical equipment. Samples are being approved.
TIMF is also in the process of developing Door frames for General Motors India for their forthcoming model.
